Christopher “Chris” Hill is a professional rugby league footballer who currently plays for Warrington Wolves in the Super League. He previously played for Leigh in the Championship. He is by preference a Prop. Hill signed for Leigh from local Wigan amateur club New Springs Lions in 2004, and started his career as a stand-off or loose forward before moving to prop, progressing through Leigh’s service area, scholarship and youth ranks before making his first senior appearance for Leigh in the 2005 Super League X season, during a 74-8 loss to St. Helens.

In 2006, Hill won the Northern Rail Cup with Leigh after consolidating his place in the side. He toured Australia with Great Britain Under-18s in this same year.

2011 saw Hill win his second Northern Rail Cup trophy with Leigh, featuring as Halifax were defeated 16-20 at Blackpool’s Bloomfield Road Stadium.

Hill accumulated a couple of accolades with Leigh; firstly in reaching 100 appearances for the club, and also being the most recent prop-forward for Leigh to score a hat-trick of tries. After missing only one game in two years, he was made captain of Leigh in 2010.

Wigan Warriors announce their 2014 Squad Numbers with 23 of the 38 named coming through the Club’s highly-acclaimed Youth Development System. In addition, a number of young Wigan-Trained players have moved up the squad list following the departure of Sam Tomkins, Pat Richards, Lee Mossop and Chris Tuson.

New Full Back signing Matty Bowen has been given squad number 1 as a direct replacement for Sam Tomkins while other new editions Eddy Pettybourne, Dan Sarginson, Tony Clubb and John Batemen will wear numbers 22, 23, 24 and 25 respectively. The Warriors other new recruit for 2014, Sam Hopkins, has been given squad number 29.

Elsewhere Anthony Gelling has been given squad number 5 while Scott Taylor, Ben Flower, Logan Tomkins, Gil Dudson and Dom Crosby have been rewarded for their performances last year by moving up the list. Wigan Warriors have also given First Team squad numbers to youngsters Connor Farrell, Ryan Sutton and Ben Austin after the trio all impressed in the Under 19’s successful season.

Matthew “Matty” Russell (born 6 June 1993 in Irvine) is a Scottish professional rugby league player for English club Warrington Wolves of Super League. A Scotland national representative fullback, he previously played for Wigan Warriors and Hull F.C., as well as in the National Rugby League for Australian club Gold Coast Titans.

Russell’s Super League career started with the Wigan Warriors, playing some games on loan to Hull F.C.. He then agreed a two-year deal with Australian NRL team, the Gold Coast Titans, but returned to England a season later. Russell was named in the Scotland squad for the 2013 Rugby League World Cup. He was one of the star players in the tournament. On the 16th of April 2014, the entertaining, fast running Scottish fullback, signed a new three-year deal that would keep him at Warrington until November 2017.
